I've checked all vacuum and air pipes for splits with out success, cleaned the EGR value and replaced the crankcase breather with no improvement. If i turn if it off it is completely silent even with just the fan running. Ver often on C5 Corvettes, the rear wheel bearings start to click randomly, then intermittently, then constantly when the wheel bearing developes some excessive drag (generally at the end of its life). Secondly, take some degreaser and clean the sides and bottom of the belt (s) in question and also the pulleys, this will at least remove most of the glazing. It started after I put headers in the car. The only change that I can make to the whistle is to press the gas pedal slightly (which makes the whistling stop) or turn off the engine (which makes the whistling gradually stop like someone turning off the stove under a hot tea kettle).
